There are 98 Universities and 150 Community Colleges in Canada.
UG Diploma, University Transfer programs, Bachelor Degrees and PG Diploma
The main Intakes are September, January and May.
There are limited intakes in July and October as well.
- If the program duration is less than 8 months - Students are not eligible for a Post Study Work Visa.
- If the program duration is more than 8 months but less than 2 years - Post Study Work Visa will be issued for the same length as the study program. (For example, if student completed a 9-month program, a work permit may be issued for up to 9 months).
- If the program duration is 2 years or more - Post Study Work Visa will be issued for 3 years.
- If a student has completed more than one program, they may be able to get a PSW that combines the length of both the programs. For this, each of the programs they have completed must be - Post Study Work Visa eligible and at least 8 months in length.
Most Institutions have :
- A Training and Placement Centre which helps the students in preparing their CV and for Interviews according to Canadian requirements.
- Many institution conducts job fairs in which various local companies participate
- It is quite likely that the students enrolled in a co-op program will get placed in their respective companies where they have done their co-op.
- Self funded / Parents / Grand Parents.
- Fixed Deposits / Government Provident Fund / Public Provident Fund / Funds in Savings Account.
- Loans from approved banks. Repayment commences upto one year after graduation or 6 months after securing a job whichever is earlier. The period for repayment also varies and may be upto 15 years.
FAQ’s Ireland
- If a candidate is applying for a visa to study, then he/she should apply for a Single entry Visa only as the VISA is initially granted only for 90 days.
- Once he/she has been issued with a Garda registration card, then he/she can apply for multiple-entry Visa, if required.
Irish High Commission accept loans from all the nationalized banks and commercial banks registered with RBI.
- PhD courses requires a strong research proposal made by the student which is to be forwarded to the Course Supervisor of the University and is subjected to approval.
- Once the approval is given, the application can be made. However, the commission is not guaranteed for the courses related to PhD in Ireland.
- It is advisable to offer chargeable services to such kind of students.
- T &P –Training and Placement Cell which helps the students in preparing for CV and Interviews
- Every University organizes Job Fairs in which various Employer participates which helps the students to look for job.
- Universities also conduct campus drives inviting the renowned companies located in Ireland for the eligible students.
- Universities can accept upto 3 to 5 backlogs. University of Limerick does not accept any backlogs.
- Institute of Technologies accept upto 8 to 10 backlogs (IT Carlow accepts upto 4 backlogs only and DKIT can accepts upto 30*backlogs)
- Private colleges like DBS, NCI and Griffith college accepts not more than 15 backlogs.
Yes, it is accepted.Only Technological University Dublin, Dublin City University and Limerick Institute of Technology accept 4 years Bachelors’ degree.

Initial deposit varies from university to university (Euros 500 – Euros 2000) Deadlines for accepting the offers are mentioned on the offer letters.

IELTS : International English Language Testing System
- In general, the English Language requirement as per UKVI is CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) Level B2 which is equivalent to a minimum 5.5 overall with 5.5 in each section in IELTS.
- Although UKVI requirement is IELTS 5.5 overall but most of the UK Universities require students with IELTS 6.0 or 6.5 overall with minimum 5.5 in each section.
- IELTS waiver is available in many of the universities if the student has secured more than 65% - 70% marks in 12th standard English.
- Pre-sessional English Language program is also offered for students who do not meet the IELTS requirements of a particular course at a University.

- Self Funded- Parents (Fixed Deposits and Funds in Savings Bank Account are the only acceptable modes).
- Education Loans from nationalized or private sector banks. A guarantor or Collateral Security is required. Interest rates are low and repayment begins after completion of program.
- Employment Current immigration regulations permit students to work part-time 20 hours a week during study time and 40 hours a week during vacation.
- Scholarships Students also receive scholarships depending on academic achievements and the overall profile.
- UK has re-introduced a Post Study Work Visa of two years after completing a Bachelors or Masters course.
- Students who will complete their degrees after June 2021 will be eligible for the Post Study Work Visa.

Associate Degree : Academic Degree of 2 years is awarded by Community Colleges. Completion of associate degree can lead to transfer to the remaining 2 years Bachelors Degree in high ranked university having an articulated agreement with the community college.
Bachelors Degree : It is Commonly known as Undergraduate Degree and the duration is of 4 years. For Ex : Bachelor of Arts (B. A.) or Bachelor of Science(B.S.)
Masters Degree : The duration generally for all the master's course is of 2 years. Common examples of master degree are Masters of Arts (MA), Masters of Science (MS), Masters of Engineering (MEng), Masters of Business Administration. But for courses like Masters in Management, MEng. Degrees, LLM etc. the duration may be of one year.
Doctorate : Commonly known as Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). Duration may range from 3-5 years. Ph.D. students need to submit a research proposal as well as must appear Standardized Test i.e. GRE/GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS for admission.

- From 2008,OPT program allows F-1 students to work in US in occupations related to their field of study.
- F-1 visa holders are eligible for 24-month extension if they hold a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
Students who have pursued STEM Degree in US get an opportunity to spend 36 months in US after their study. During this 36 months they can work full time on student visa and if the employer sponsor’s H1B they can convert their student visa into work visa. This period of 36 months is reduced to 12 months in case of students who have done management studies in US. This benefit is available under the scheme called Optional Practical Training (OPT).
